Hi! I'm Eric Robles. The summer of 2019 officially marked the start of my art career. I attended Academy of Art University and fell in love with 3d modeling. Not only modeling, but also rigging, animation, and game design. However, my undergrad was mainly solo projects and learning how to be an artist and training my eye; I was not exposed to pure collaboration and therefore my models were just cool things to look at.
After graduating Academy of Art University, I had the opportunity to pursue a Master's at Southern Methodist University. While I ultimatly chose not to complete the degree, I learned the joys of collaborating with other game developers with different abilities on two shipped games. These games are "Fastival" and "IMVI: Echoes of Harmony". On the latter, I was lead artist. It was here I learned that the most important thing about game development is collaboration. I also learned how to be part of leadership and that there are leaders because a support system is essential to a team. Being a leader is not about being the best at what you do but the ability to empower others.
Ultimatly, I realized, that before being an artist, I am a game developer. To be a game developer is to support your team in the pursuit of the creation of something greater.
